Ex-LNWR 7F 0-8-0 'G2a' No 49244 is seen in company with an unidentified class mate as both raise steam for their next trips in June 1951. Built at Crewe Works in October 1914 No 49244 was to last less than a year in service after this photograph was taken being withdrawn from Rugby shed in April 1952 to be scrapped by Crewe works shortly afterwards.
