A view of Warwick Milverton shed on a Sunday when the majority of the shed's locomotives were stabled in sequence for Monday's work turns. Sundays were always a good time to bunk (visit) a shed as there were few workings, the main week being between Monday morning and Saturday lunch time which reflected the general working week of the country. A variety of ex-LNWR goods locomotives can be seen in the above photograph, ex-LNWR 0-6-0 Cauliflowers and ex-LNWR 0-8-0 'Super D'. The little pile of ash in the four foot (the space between the two rails) is a reminder that at the shed's busiest times some locomotives didn't always have access to a pit to clean out the firebox of ash and clinker, although in this instance the finer ash and the amount piled up would indicate that it is most probably from the smokebox.
