LMS Route: Birmingham-Soho-Perry Barr-Birmingham

Looking through the archway of Dudley Road bridge with Winson Green station seen in the distance on 1st June 1962. On the left is the canal cutting whilst on the right are the two lines of the Perry Barr route. The two sets of signals are, from left to right, Harborne Junction's starter for Wolverhampton and Harborne Junction's starter for Perry Barr. The railway took every opportunity to generate revenue and evidence of this can be seen above on the bridge. The road between Dudley and Birmingham was a very popular route and therefore the railway has erected advertising hoardings on both sides in order to sell advertising space.
