Close up of image 'lnwrwg99' showing Winson Green station's original LNWR stone station sign and the later BR version. It was very common in the 19th century to inscribe names, coat of arms, etc in stone reflecting the low labour costs of the time and Victorian aesthetics. The design in the centre of the stone is not the coat of arms of the Stour Valley Railway nor the LNWR.
