View of Winson Green Junction showing the line to Wolverhampton on the left and to Perry Barr on the right on 1st June 1962. In the distance an unidentified ex-LMS 0-6-0 4F locomotive can be seen on the other side of the triangle that formed the junction. The railway was constructed at a higher level than the surrounding ground which is why the roof of a building can just be seen to the right of the ex-LNWR lower quadrant signal. This property was located on Wellington Street and a bridge carrying the railway over the road can just be seen to the right of the photograph. John Fancote writes, the girder bridge over Wellington Street and Foundry Road is Number 20 on the 'Soho Perry Barr line'.
