Looking from the up platform towards Kings Norton with Lifford Station Junction signal box in the distance on the left. The third station was built very close to or on the site of the first station which was opened on 17th December 1840 and closed on 1st December 1844. This, the third station, was opened on 1st July 1885 and officially closed on 27th January 1941 although in reality it closed with the cessation of services on 30th September 1940.
