LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 Hall class No 5984 'Linden Hall' is seen on a class D semi-fitted freight on 10th June 1963. To the left of the pair of MR bracket signals is the head shunt for the canal branch which itself can be seen passing to the left behind the photographer. This was junction of the original Birmingham West Suburban Railway's original route with the Birmingham & Gloucester Railway but was made redundant by the new 'cut off' when it opened on 26th September 1885.
