View of an unidentified ex-MR 0-6-0 locomotive at the head of a rake of open wagons as it traverses the canal branch on 20th January 1957. The deviation line built between Stirchley Street and Kings Norton initially led to the former main line being down graded to a single line worked by a train staff but from 25th January 1936 the Lifford Canal branch was made a through siding worked by telephone. The locomotive seen above is working towards Bournville.
