LMS Route: Nuneaton to Birmingham New Street

Shustoke station looking towards the Coleshill Road bridge and on to Nuneaton two years before closure on 13th May 1966. The station appears to be lit by oil lamps, a common feature at stations in rural areas right up to the end of steam. The main station building is sited on the up platform with the passenger facilities located nearest to the camera. These would typically comprise a booking office and hall, general waiting room, a separate ladies waiting room with toilet en suite and gentlemen's toilet accessed off the main platform. The station master was housed in the two-storey part of the building.
