The site of the former signal box installed at the expense of the Alcester Railway to protect the junction can be seen on the right. The new LMS built signal box, placed centrally within the confines of the station's trackwork, is seen on the left. Its not known why the track to the GWR engine shed passed through the building. It may have been designed to accommodate any coaching stock left overnight although why this could not have been accommodated in front of the shed on the approach from Great Alne is not known.
