LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

British Railways built 2-6-4T No 42054 leaves for Evesham with a down local on Easter Monday 30th March 1959. Designed by Charles Fairburn No 42054 was built by Derby works to Lot 210 in November 1950, and remained in service only for a short period of time being withdrawn during July 1964 from 9D Newton Heath shed to be scrapped by Crewe works during the same month. The signal post on the right has two arms the lower arm controlling up traffic with the top signal arm controlling down traffic, such as the train seen above.
