LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

A view of the original 1866 station building prior to the track being doubled through the station and station offices and facilities being entended. The track appears to be single line without a passing loop and, as was the practice in the 1880s, is laid on a bed of ashes covering the sleepers. The rails are exposed at much shorter regular distances than normal appearing to reveal fishplates which if correct would indicate very short lengths of rails were employed.
