A view of a Cadburys seaside excursion train, standing at
the up platform in 1912. Although the engine, a Deeley 3F 0-6-0, seems to be
well short of the end of the platform, one must assume it had stopped as there
was a railwayman standing on the running plate. The excursion was a popular
one, judging by the number of passengers waiting on the platform. This photo is
the earliest dated one of the extended canopy on the up platform and also shows
the sparsely furnished down platform clearly, with the Maryvale Road bridge in
the background.
