A view inside the roundhouse of two ex-Midland Railway engines, taken in the late fifties by A Wycherley. The coaling stage can be faintly seen through the locomotive entrance. Both engines survived the closure of the shed. No 40439, which had been in store outside, was finally withdrawn in February 1961. No 58138, which was still in use at Bournville, was not withdrawn until December 1962.
