LMS Route: Nuneaton to Birmingham New Street

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48545 passing through Bromford Bridge Station at the head of a down Type 7 service. This categorised the service as being an 'Express freight train NOT fitted with the automatic brake. Maximum speed 40 mph. Where fitted vehicles are required to be placed next to the engine and coupled up, this will be shewn in the appropriate Regional train loading instructions'. Built as LMS No 8545 in February 1945 by the LNER's Darlington works, No 48545 was to remain in service for exactly 22 years being withdrawn in February 1967 from 8E Northwich shed to be scrapped.
