Cadbury's Sidings: mrcad667
British Railways 5MT 4-6-0 No 73001 heads a southbound
express past Cadbury's sidings on Sunday 12th September 1954. The corporate
identity of the carmine and cream painted train would have been more impressive
if the coaches had all been equally clean. The engine was one of the new
standard types, built in May 1951 at Derby. It was withdrawn in December 1965
from Bath shed, after only fourteen years service. The bridge in the background
carried Cadbury's private lines across the main line, connecting to their canal
side warehouse facilities. This photo was taken soon after mrb672.
