Close up of image 'mrcgy912' showing the front of Birmingham Central Goods Station's 1941 rebuilt warehouse and sidings. Some time since the sidings were originally relaid in 1941, they have been rationalised. Whereas there is just one siding on the left of the entrance to the warehouse, there were originally three terminating against the front wall. Originally categorised as, from left to right, No 13 Short, No 14 In and No 14 Out. In the view above only No 14 In remains. Stabled on the two lines entering the warehouse, No 13 'A' Deck and No 13 'B' Deck, are bogie parcels vehicles The tracks were not numbered to follow a natural sequence but were, according to Vic Phillips a former signalman at the depot, numbered to match the levers in the Midland Railway signal box. For additional information on the layout of the goods yard see image 'mrcgy909'.
