Ex-MR 0-6-0 3F No 43464 is seen passing Camp Hill signal box on
a Class H through freight train in 1953. Trains being banked from Washwood
Heath would normally continue without further assistance from this point
onwards. However if the driver of the train engine required continued
assistance he would whistle as he passed the box and in daylight the signalman
would wave his arm to tell the banker to continue or at night wave a green
lamp. This was the third signal box sited at Camp Hill and was opened on 23rd
February 1941.
