LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

This close up of image 'mre552' shows both the 1890 and 1934 signal boxes, the former being nearest the camera whilst its replacement can be seen behind it at the end of the down platform. The lamppost lit the boardwalk crossing the main running lines although would have been beneficial to those working in the main goods yard on the right. Further extensions to the goods yard required sidings to be built south of the above, behind and to the right of the photographer. The MR engine shed also was located in this area and would have been open when this photograph was taken about 1920, the shed closing in 1931.
