LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Evesham Station: mre564
A view of the viaduct which carried the Aschurch to Evesham line
over the River Avon with the GWR shed in background. Built on a skew, the
double track was carried on two sets of steelwork 123ft 7in long and had its
timber decking replaced in 1928-9 when the LMS strengthened the structure and
installed a concrete floor. This photograph was taken on 8th April 1924 and
shows GWR vans standing in the sidings in front of the GWR shed, both located
in the vee where the MR and GWR tracks diverged.
