View looking towards Birmingham New Street taken on 4th July 1954 just ten years after the station closed. The station's facilities were from the outset rather basic being basically two platforms, a brick built waiting room on the down platform and a booking office at road level. The edging stones to both platforms have been removed, an apparent procedure carried out at many closed passenger facilities. Whether this was to provide increase the gauge for rail traffic or to deter its use by passengers hopping off from passing services is not known.
