LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Nuneaton
Forge Mills Station: mrforg395
An Edwardian view of Forge Mills station showing the up
platform which accommodated the principal buildings. Set in a very rural
location the station provided services to a fairly thin population. The station
sign is the standard Midland Railway's two-faced sign set at an oblique angle
to each other. The station masters house is at the far end of the platform with
the booking office and passengers facilities adjacent, nearer the camera. There
wasn't a footbridge at Forge Mills passengers crossed by the level crossing
seen at the bottom left of the photograph. Behind the station on the left is
the Mill that gave the station its name.
