In front of the doorway to the station master's house are a number of wicker baskets whilst the door to the booking office and waiting rooms has item of luggage standing in front of it too. The booking office has a lamppost almost hidden by the extensive greenery. It was common for most railway companies to provide at least two waiting rooms for passengers, one for ladies only, complete with en-suite toilets, and a general waiting room.
