Kingsbury Station: mrk1820
Close up of image 'mrk438' showing Kingsbury station's brick
built waiting room situated on the down platform. Whilst small and basic in
design, the structure is substantial unlike the timber waiting room built at
Wilnecote. This is probably because the structure was original and built in
1839. The station staff obviously take pride in their station with white washed
platform edgings, flower beds and window cills. Modellers might wish to note
the rain gutter which runs across the gable end to a down pipe at the rear of
the building. The porters barrow partly seen on the right and the porters
trolley on the left indicates that there is in all probability a barrow
crossing at the Birmingham end of the station to enable staff to cross the
line.
