Ex-LMS 5MT No 44845 from Belle Vue shed carries a M826 special train reporting number on 4th September 1953. One of Stanier's acclaimed Black 5 locomotives No 44845 was built at Crewe works in October 1944 and was to remain in service until June 1968 when it was withdrawn from 9D Newton Heath shed to be scrapped in December 1968 by G Cohen of Cargo Fleet near Middlesborough.
