LMS Stanier 5P5F No 5280 is seen sporting train reporting number 230 as it hurries past with a long express train in 1937. Built by Armstrong Whitworth in November 1936 No 5280 remained in service until November 1967 when it was withdrawn from 8H Birkenhead shed to be scrapped in March 1968 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
