MR 0-6-0 Kirtley No 2593 is seen hurrying along the fast line with a mixed freight train during the early 1920s. A member of the MR's 700 class, No 2593 was originally built as MR No 701 by Dubbs & Company circa 1869 and remained in service until March 1928 when it was withdrawn to be scrapped by Derby works soon afterwards.
