MR 4-4-0 No 405 sports a number 3 Saltley shed plate as it works an express train south of Kings Norton on 18th June 1921. Built at Sharp Stewart in April 1892 No 405 was a member of the MR's 483 class and was to remain in service until March 1955 when it was withdrawn from 9A Longsight shed to be scrapped by Derby works soon afterwards.
