MR 4-4-0 2P No 431 is seen at the head of a down express as it passes a MR signal gantry on 1st October 1921. Another member of the MR's 483 class built by Sharp Stewart, in February 1893 in this instance ,No 431 remained in service until June 1950 when it was withdrawn from 16A Nottingham shed to be scrapped by Derby works circa 1950.
