MR 4-4-0 No 488 is seen on a down express passenger service having just passed the carriage sidings on 16th July 1921. Yet another member of the MR's ubiquitous 483 class No 488 was built by Derby works in October 1896 and was to remain in service December 1950 when it was withdrawn from 23C Lancaster shed to be scrapped by Derby works circa 1951.
