MR 3P 4-4-0 No 723 was also fitted with tanks on its tender for oil firing and is seen with steam escaping from the valves as it heads an express service. Another of the MR's 2606 class, No 723 was built by Derby works in November 1902 and was to remain in service until June 1939 when it was withdrawn from 16A Nottingham shed to be scrapped by Derby works in November 1939.
