A pre-World War One view of MR 4-4-0 2P No 416 as it has heads an express train south of Kings Norton in 1911. Unusually this locomotive has not been fitted with the water guards normally seen under the buffer of MR locomotives. Another member of the MR's 483 class, No 416 was built by Sharp Stewart in May 1892 and was to remain in service until May 1959 when it was withdrawn from 17A Derby shed to be scrapped by Crewe works in July 1959.
