Close up of image 'mrls425' showing Lawley Street 'B' Signal Box, the MR Johnson 0-6-0T and the plethora of sidings which fed the warehouse and depot. On the left most of the wagons in view are also mineral wagons although the sheeting seen covering some wagons indicates these could be carrying non-mineral loads. The need for the railway to provide loading gauges as identified in image 'mrls308b' is demonstrated by this photograph. In the foreground is an open wagon loaded with goods, possibly steel, which are much longer than the wagon itself. This was a common sight on the railway and was not a problem provided the wagon marshalled next to its overhang was not a Van or had a load which pointed in the opposite direction.
