Close up of image 'mrms422' showing the timber framed gantry used to suspend the up inner home signal. Whilst initially operated by a ground frame on the up platform the signal would eventually be controlled directly from Kings Heath signal box. The passenger shelter on the down platform is very minimal being basically a rear wall and cantilevered roof. Passengers heading south would have to buy their tickets and use the up platform's facilities before crossing over to the down platform via the path that ran behind the tunnel's mouth.
