LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Ex-LMS 4-6-0 Stanier Black 5 No 44917 is seen at the head of a Bristol express on 28th November 1956 as it hurries past the site of the old station. Careful examination of the photograph shows that the original access ramps are still visible. Built at Crewe works in December 1945 No 44917 was to remain in service until it was withdrawn from Crewe (South) shed in November 1967 to be scrapped by J Cashmore of Great Bridge in March 1968.
