LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Northfield Lineside: mrn313
MR 0-6-4T 3P 'Flatiron' No 2039 is seen heading a down
Redditch local passenger train during August 1921. The length of the train is
impressive and reflects the days when the only realistic transport to other
towns was by rail. The fortieth member of the Midland Railway's 2000 class No
2039 was built at Derby works in September 1907 and remained in service until
it was withdrawn from Saltley shed in November 1937 to be scrapped by Derby
works in February 1938.
