MR 4-4-0 No 766 is seen working hard with black smoke
pouring from its chimney as heads an express passenger service in August 1921.
The black smoke was caused when a lot of unburnt coal was being ejected meaning
that a lot of the fireman's effort going straight up the chimney. A member of
the MR's 2606 class, No 766 was built at Derby works in March 1905 but only
lasted a relatively short time in service being withdrawn and scrapped at Derby
works in May 1928.
