Ex-LMS 4F 0-6-0 No 43953 stands at the up platform at the head of the RCTS 'Midland Locomotive Requiem' railtour on Saturday 16th October 1965. With the absence of any former Midland Railway locomotives in the area to work this railtour, No 43953 had been loaned to Saltley shed by Workington shed. Returning to Workington shed the following week No 43953 was to be the last 4F to be in service being withdrawn from service very shortly afterwards during the week ending 6th November 1965.
