Ashby on 30th September 1971. The Midland line to Leicester is in the
foreground whilst the Midland lines to Ashby and to the LNWR Trent Valley lines
are behind the signal box, which is of typical Midland design. A wharf on the
Ashby Curve beyond the box served Judkin’s stone siding, which boasted its
own narrow gauge system from the wharf to the quarry, just to the north.
