LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Nuneaton
Stockingford Shed: mrs116
External view taken on Saturday 3rd March 1934 of
Stockingford's closed shed showing the large water tank supported by brick
walls and the main shed building constructed from timber. On closure its duties
were transfered to the LNWR shed at Nuneaton. As can be seen the shed had three
roads, was of a straight road configuration, not the normal Midland round house
and made of timber. The water tank was however a standard MR design. The
grounded coach body along side the building was a typical railway solution to
either providing extra space for either tols or parts or mess facilities.
