Another view taken from Saltley shed's original coaling stage showing the rows of locomotives stabled outside No 3 roundhouse. The point lever near the front of the nearest locomotive shows that access to the stabling roads were set by hand, often the firemen of the relevant locomotive, whilst behind the engine is evidence of more ash bunkers and lighting. The locomotive nearest the camera, ex-MR 2F 0-6-0 No 3528 was built by Neilson & Co to the MR's class 1973 design in 1897 and lasted another fours in service until scrapped in November 1935. C1931
