British Railways Sulzer Type 4 diesel locomotive D66 stands beneath Saltley shed's coaling plant in late 1966 / early 1967. Saltley shed's disposal and maintenance facilities were obviosly steam orientated which could on occassion see diesel locomotives using the coaling plant not for coal but for topping up with water as they still needed to provide steam heating to the coaching stock. Later renumbered under TOPS as 45146, the locomotive was withdrawn in April 1987 and scrapped.
