Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48538 stands outside Saltley shed on 3rd March 1967 having been withdrawn the same month. Built by the LNER's Doncaster Plant in August 1945, No 48538 was sent to J Cashmore of Great Bridge to be scrapped.
