British Railways built Stanier Black 5 4-6-0 No 44660 is seen standing in front of No 3 roundhouse fully prepared for its next set of duties on Sunday 13th August 1949. Built at Crewe works in May 1949 No 44660 was just four months old when this photograph was taken and remained in service for fifteen years until withdrawn from Saltley shed in September 1964 to be scrapped the following month at Cowlairs works.9
