One of a handful of outside framed engines to survive long enough to be allocated a BR number, 58112, much rebuilt ex-MR 0-6-0 22853 is seen standing alongside the war damaged corner of number 3 roundhouse on 13th August 1949. This side view shows the characteristic curved frames of Kirtley's final 0-6-0 design well. It was withdrawn from Saltley the following March still carrying its LMS number. The siding it was stabled on was later to be used to access the shed's diesel fuel tank.
