LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Tamworth

Ex-LMS 4P 4-4-0 Compound No M935 and ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 5274 are stabled inside the shed

Ex-LMS 4P 4-4-0 Compound No M935 and ex-LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 5274 are stabled inside the shed with ex-MR 2P 4-4-0 No 437 in March 1948. Compound No M935 was built by Derby works in September 1932 and remained in service until April 1958 when it was withdrawn from Bournville shed to be scrapped by Crewe works. Stanier 'Black Five' No 5274 was built by Armstrong Whitworth in November 1936 and remained in service until May 1967 when it was withdrawn from 12A Kingmoor shed in Carlisle. Finally the Midland 2P was built by Sharp Stewart in March 1893 and it remained in service for a short time after the photograph was taken being withdrawn in May 1949 from 22B Gloucester shed to be scrapped by Derby works.
