Ex-LMS 4-6-0 5MT No 4811 reverses back into the shed after being coaled and watered sometime during 1948. The ubiquitous Stanier Black Five was the backbone of most sheds and Saltley was no exception with nineteen being recorded as allocated on 1st January 1948, when railways were nationalised. Built by Derby works in October 1944 No 4811 was to remain in service for 22 years being withdrawn during October 1966 from 16B Colwick shed.
