Ex-MR 3F 0-6-0 No 43263 stands in front of Saltley shed on 3rd September 1961 fully prepared for the next day's trip. Although this class of locomotive was a Victorian design some thirty-five class members were on Saltley shed's books in May 1955. Built by Neilson & Company in 1890, No 43263 was allocated to Saltley shed in November 1948 and except for a period of time when the locomotive was allocated to Bournville shed, from where it returned in November 1959, the locomotive remained at Saltley shed until it was withdrawn during week ending 2nd June 1962.
