LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

View of Salford Priors station taken from the road bridge located at the Evesham end of the station. The distinctive 'X' shaped television aerial on the roof indicates that the photograph was taken in the early 1950s prior to the LMS station nameboard being replaced by the British Railways London Midland version which occurred circa 1954. The station has evidently been painted quite recently given the brightness of the stonework on the station building and in particular, the lampposts which were previously a dark colour on early photographs. The platform edge too is painted white, a practice that pre-dates the Second World War, a practice often attributed to war-time measures.
