LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham
Salford Priors station: mrsp1353a
Close up of image 'mrsp1353' showing the road over bridge on the
left and Salford Priors station building on the right. The road bridge had been
built to accommodate double track, a standard precaution adopted by most
railways when erecting such structures. The cost of building the bridge would
have not been as substantial as the cost of replacing it at a later date. The
railway had been built as double track between Ashchurch and Evesham and
therefore this might have influenced the railway's Board of Directors thinking
when planning the railway north of Evesham.
